If one of your relatives was under the legal age to marry, see what consent documents are with their marriage license or record. The parent may have signed somewhere on the record, given verbal consent form only, or signed an actual letter granting permission.
Yes! I had a most wonderful serendipity moment at the local historical society when I opened a box, saw a "book", thumbed through it and it was marriage license entries. I flipped through randomly and on the 3rd flip found my great grandparents and the permission signed for my great grandfather who was under age. His guardian/uncle signed for him.
