Every Item in the Estate Inventory

Do you have an estate inventory for an ancestor with items you "have no clue" what they are? There may be clues to your ancestor's occupation or social status in those clues. And if there are not, you'll at least get an interesting history lesson in the process.

  1. No, but I have probate records that say inventories were done (mid-19th century NY), but I don't know where to find the inventories.

  2. Hello BAT Mom! To find probate records, you can go to the Probate Office of your county. If the county does not hold the records, you can go to the State office. Hopes this helps.
