University Libraries

Have you looked at university libraries near where your ancestor lived and those a slight distance or a few counties away? Some may have special collections of historical material that may be useful in your research.

  1. Even university libraries near where you live can be depositories for federal or state government documents, may hold obscure historical journals, or may have map collections that pertain to your ancestor's home area.

  2. Haverford College in PA (near Phila) has a large Quaker collection, as does Guildford College in Greensboro, NC.
