Have you preserved one of your own stories today or recently? Don't forget that someday you'll no longer be an "active" leaf on the family tree and the greatest irony would be if you didn't preserve and share a few of your own stories along the way.
I have a great-aunt (with no children herself) who has actually self-published two books of stories. I'm not suggesting you do that, but even those without descendants can leave behind stories and someone later will be glad that you did.
I've been thinking about this lately, especially since I'm the family historian and have no children. Thanks for the reminder!

ReplyDeleteI sure agree with Michael John Neill! Old diaries or old journals can be so fascinating!
