We just wrapped up our WorldCat.org webinar earlier today. This presentation discussed searching the site, what to search for, using your account, and other suggestions for genealogical ways to use WorldCat.org. Worldcat.org (http://www.worldcat.org) is an online library card catalog that allows user to search thousands of libraries at once, seeing:
  • what libraries have what materials
  • how far those libraries are from the searching
  • what format the material is in
  • direct links to the library's website
  • both print and electronic materials
  • and more!
If you are unfamiliar with WorldCat, our presentation may be just the thing you need to getstarted with your searches--you'll want to spend hours searching the site.

Not all material located in WorldCat is available through interlibrary loan, but just being aware that something exists can be a great help. I even found a collection of Civil War letters written by a relative that were donated to a state archives.

Normally our webinars sell for $8.50 but this one is being offered to previous customers at an introductory rate of $6 via this link below:

Thanks!
